Rolls-Royce recognised as leading sustainable business

September 15, 2015: Rolls-Royce has been recognised as a leading sustainable business, achieving Industry Leader in the Aerospace and Defense sector in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index 2015.

Rolls-Royce increased its total company score by 17%, as measured in the DJSI, the world’s leading benchmark indicator of sustainable business. We achieved industry best scores for two of the three dimensions assessed – environmental and social – and scored above the industry average for all sections. Rolls-Royce is listed in both the DJSI World and DJSI Europe index.

Vicky Bullivant, Rolls-Royce, Global Head of Sustainability, said “Our success in gaining recognition as the industry leader for sustainability in the Aerospace and Defence sector is a result of placing sustainability at the heart of our strategy. For Rolls-Royce, that means driving profitable growth while at the same time achieving a positive economic, social and environmental impact.

“Our success is also testament to our desire to demonstrate greater transparency in the way that we operate and how we report on our progress in meeting our sustainability goals.”

Every year, the DJSI rates companies according to a range of sustainability criteria, taking into account environmental, social and economic factors. Rolls-Royce has been listed in the DJSI for 14 consecutive years.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices are offered cooperatively by RobecoSAM and S&P Dow Jones Indices. Full details of the 2015 DJSI annual review can be found at http://www.sustainability-indices.com/
