First U.S.-built Airbus Emerged from Paintshop

Mobile, March 4, 2016: Painting of the first U.S.-built A321 has been completed as it emerged from the paintshop in Mobile, Alabama in its JetBlue livery. This latest milestone shows that the first aircraft to be produced at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility is progressing well on its route to first flight and delivery in spring 2016. The Mobile based assembly line will also used for the production of A319 and A320.

To match ongoing high demand for its bestselling A320 Family, Airbus has taken the decision last October to further increase the production rate of the Single Aisle Family to 60 aircraft a month in mid-2019. The decision follows thorough studies on production ramp-up readiness in the supply chain and in Airbus sites in Europe, USA and China to allow the ramp-up.
